2015 Fashion Trends Channel 70s at their Peak
Nostalgia hits the runways yet again as the 2015 fashion trends pop their head over the horizon. Though it still is cold, Spring flowers dot the collection of 2015 fashions as 70s flower power comes back into full swing with bold prints and rising hemlines.
Khaki, too, is back. Just like your hippie dad wore back then, military-looking shirts, dresses, and pants are flooding the stores this year.
If you don’t like the 70s look, though, there are plenty of 2015 fashion trends that appeal to a more classic-minded fashionista. Nautical stripes, pleated skirts, and tailored jackets come together for a crisp look just in time for spring and summer. Plenty of black and white tailored suits and dresses are also coming back around in 2015.
If playful is more your style, 2015 echoes the playful late 70s, when glitter-bedecked denim was the one item your mom couldn’t do without back then. If she didn’t save her sequined bell-bottoms, that’s OK. You can find plenty of designs that channel that Elton John-in-his heyday look, big spectacles, tuxedo jacket and all.
If you like frilly and lots of it, you’ll be in luck. The 2015 lineup offers plenty of tiered dresses, lace and ruffles enough to make you wish your mom had saved her 70s Gunne Sax prom dress for you. Again, if Mom doesn’t have one in mothballs, you’ll be sure to find something among all of the romantic choices available this year.
One holdover from last year is the ever-popular gladiator sandal. 2015, though offers some high-heel choices among all of the flats.
Polka dots, a perennial favorite for spring, are at their huge 60s and 70s best in boldly contrasting colors. Dynamite in black and white, add a chunky oversized piece of jewelry to really channel the 70s look.
Scour your mom’s jewelry boxes and closets before you head off to the store, though. Adding an authentic vintage touch to the updated choices available, thanks to the 2015 fashion trends, will make your ensemble one all of your friends will envy.
